Terms and Conditions

for the use of chi-me.eu and the “CHI-ME Stories” memberships · Last updated: 31 October 2026 (version 3, 1 November 2026)

This English translation is provided for convenience only. Only the German version is legally binding.

1. Scope and provider

(1) These terms apply to the use of the website chi-me.eu, the customer account, the digital library and to all memberships and gift memberships concluded via chi-me.eu.

(2) The provider of the content is MSCG LTD, Serghides House, Office 102, 61 Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, 6017 Larnaca, Republic of Cyprus, registration number HE434761, email info@chi-me.eu (“we”). Further details can be found in the imprint.

(3) Our offer is aimed at adults. A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly outside their trade, business or profession. Deviating terms of customers do not apply.

2. Our offer

(1) On chi-me.eu we provide illustrated children's stories about CHI-ME as digital content: web books to read online, a read-aloud function, audiobooks, PDF editions and colouring pages. No physical goods are delivered.

(2) The following levels are available:

LevelContentPrice
HappyRead the sample book online, audio preview of the first pages (also without signing in)free
KiraRead all books in the library online, read-aloud and automatic read-aloud, PDF download€4.90 a month or €49 a year
CHI-ME's WorldAs Kira, plus automatic page turning, audiobook download and colouring pages€79 a year

(3) The description and price shown at the time of purchase on chi-me.eu and on the payment page are decisive. All prices include statutory VAT.

(4) The library grows continuously. Individual books may be replaced, revised or moved to another level, as long as the agreed scope of a level is maintained overall. There is no entitlement to specific future titles. We decide which book can be read as the free sample book and may change it.

3. Customer account

(1) You need a customer account for memberships. You sign in with your email address and receive a sign-in link by email each time. The account is free of charge.

(2) Keep access to your email inbox protected and do not pass on sign-in links. A membership applies to you and the children in your household.

(3) We may block an account if it is misused, in particular if access is shared or content is distributed contrary to section 8. We will inform you beforehand where reasonable.

4. Conclusion of contract and payment

(1) The presentation of the memberships on chi-me.eu is not yet a binding offer. By clicking the purchase button in the customer account or on the gift page you are forwarded to the payment page. There you will see the plan, term and total price once more. By clicking the pay button you place a binding order; the contract is concluded with the confirmation of payment. You will receive a confirmation with an invoice by email.

(2) For payment we use Stripe Managed Payments. The purchase is processed by Link, a company of the Stripe group, as reseller and payee (“Merchant of Record”, “Sold through Link”). The terms of Link additionally apply to ordering, payment, taxes, invoicing and refunds; they also state which company is your contractual partner for the payment. We are responsible for providing the content and its quality, access to your membership and content-related customer service.

(3) The payment methods shown on the payment page are available (e.g. credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link). The membership is activated in your account immediately after successful payment.

(4) The language of the contract is German; this English version is a convenience translation. We do not store the contract text separately for you; you can view, print or save these terms here at any time, and the order details are in your confirmation email.

5. Term, renewal and cancellation of memberships

(1) The membership begins upon activation. Kira is available with a term of one month or one year, CHI-ME's World with a term of one year. The amount is collected at the start of each period via the chosen payment method.

(2) Monthly membership: it renews for a further month each time unless cancelled beforehand.

(3) Annual membership for customers resident in Germany: after the first year the membership continues on a monthly basis for an indefinite period at the monthly price (currently Kira €4.90, CHI-ME's World €7.90 per month). You can then cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current month. Whether this rule applies depends on the place of residence stated before purchase and the country of the billing address; if either of these is Germany, this rule applies.

(4) Annual membership for all other customers: the membership renews for a further year each time at the annual price then applicable, unless cancelled beforehand. You will receive a reminder by email in good time before each renewal. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.

(5) You can cancel at any time without giving reasons: via the button “Cancel contracts here” (also without signing in), in your account (Account → “Cancel subscription”) or by email to info@chi-me.eu. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; until then you can continue to use all content and withdraw the cancellation or switch to another plan.

(6) You can voluntarily switch to another membership at any time, e.g. from monthly back to an annual membership. Such a switch is a new contract with its own term; the remainder of the current period already paid for is credited.

(7) We may terminate a membership with one month's notice to the end of a period. The right of both parties to terminate for good cause remains unaffected.

(8) We will notify you of price changes for existing memberships by email at least six weeks before the next renewal date. They only apply from that date. You can cancel until then; we will point this out in the notification.

6. Gift memberships

(1) A gift membership (Kira or CHI-ME's World) is paid once and is valid for twelve months from the start date chosen at purchase (no later than 180 days after purchase). It does not renew automatically.

(2) The recipient signs in with the email address given at purchase. Please check the address carefully. Up to the start date we will correct an incorrectly entered address on request to info@chi-me.eu.

(3) Payment in cash is excluded, except in the case of a withdrawal (see withdrawal notice). If the recipient already has a paid membership, the higher level applies.

7. Provision, availability and defects

(1) The content is provided via chi-me.eu in the browser. You need an up-to-date browser and an internet connection. Downloads (PDF, audiobook, colouring pages) are available during the membership.

(2) We strive for availability with as few interruptions as possible. Short interruptions for maintenance, updates or due to disruptions beyond our control are possible.

(3) The statutory rights regarding defects of digital products apply. We provide updates necessary for the content to remain in conformity with the contract. Please report problems to info@chi-me.eu.

8. Rights of use

(1) All content is protected by copyright. With the membership you receive, for its duration, the simple, non-transferable right to use the content of your level privately and non-commercially, in particular to read it, read it aloud and listen to it, for yourself and the children in your household.

(2) You may save and print downloaded files (PDF, audiobook, colouring pages) for this private purpose, even after the end of the membership. You may print colouring pages for your household as often as you like.

(3) In particular, the following is not permitted: passing on access or files to third parties, making content publicly available (e.g. on the internet, in social networks, file-sharing networks), public performances and readings, commercial use, adapting the characters and using the content to train AI systems. Kindergartens, schools and other institutions, please contact us.

9. Liability

(1) We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and insofar as we have given a guarantee.

(2) In the event of a slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual obligation (an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose compliance you may regularly rely), our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.

(3) The statutory rights of consumers regarding defects of digital products remain unaffected.

10. Right of withdrawal

Consumers have a right of withdrawal. Details can be found in the withdrawal notice.

11. Data protection

We explain how we process your data in the privacy policy.

12. Dispute resolution

We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If you have problems, please contact us directly.

13. Applicable law, changes, final provisions

(1) The law of the Republic of Cyprus applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. As a consumer you retain the protection of the mandatory provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence.

(2) We will notify you of changes to these terms for ongoing memberships by email at least six weeks in advance. We only change essential contractual content (scope of services, price) with your consent or in accordance with section 5 (8); otherwise you can cancel until the changes take effect.

(3) Should individual provisions be invalid, the remainder of the contract remains valid; the statutory provisions then apply.
